Director of IT Position, Germantown, Maryland This role is with a dynamic, modern primary care network delivering high-quality, individualized care across Maryland. Provides a comprehensive approach to health care, specializing in accurate diagnosis and treatment across the health spectrum—from treating sudden illness to chronic diseases. Team utilizes forward-thinking technology, including AI scribe services and electronic workflows, to improve patient access and in-office experience. Currently in a rapid growth phase, expanding from our current 14 clinics to a goal of 30 by the end of 2026, with a long-term vision of operating 70+ locations across the Mid-Atlantic states.
Position: Director of IT This role will co-develop the IT roadmap, assess current technology across 18-20 sites (growing to 30+), and align IT strategy with scalability targets. This is a new role for the organization and will report tot he CFO.

Core Responsibilities - Develop the Strategic IT Roadmap: Assess the current state of technology across 30+ sites and design a multi-year strategy that aligns IT investment with the group's aggressive growth targets, focusing on scalability, cloud migration, and standardization.
- Manage Multi-Site Infrastructure (SD-WAN/NetOps): Oversee the connectivity, reliability, and performance of the Wide Area Network (WAN) linking all clinics. This includes managing ISPs, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure seamless access to critical applications from any location.
- Oversee Managed Service Providers (MSPs): Serve as the primary accountability owner for external IT vendors. Strict management of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) is required to ensure the existing MSP delivers timely helpdesk support.
- Lead Data Security & HIPAA Compliance: Act as the designated HIPAA Security Officer. Implement and enforce policies for access control, encryption, and audit logs. Conduct regular risk assessments and lead staff training on cybersecurity threats like phishing and ransomware.
- Architect Data Integrations & Interoperability: Design the middleware strategy to ensure seamless data flow between the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Practice Management (PM) system, laboratory interfaces, and third-party population health tools (HL7/FHIR standards).
- Standardize Hardware & Software Lifecycle: Establish a "standard operating environment" (SOE) for all workstations, tablets, and printers. Centralize procurement to reduce costs and manage the asset lifecycle from acquisition to secure disposal.
- Optimize Clinical Application Performance: Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer to optimize the EMR configuration. Troubleshoot clinical workflow bottlenecks and ensure the software stack supports the specific needs of PCPs, PAs, and NPs.
- Establish Internal Support Protocols: Define the escalation matrix between the external helpdesk and internal resources. Implement a ticketing system to track trends in technical failures and identify root causes affecting clinic productivity.
- Drive Business Intelligence & Reporting: Build the data architecture necessary to extract actionable insights from clinical and financial systems, enabling leadership to track provider productivity, patient volume, and revenue cycle metrics.
- Manage Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop and test robust backup and recovery plans. Ensure that clinics can maintain critical operations during internet outages or system failures through redundancy and failover protocols.
